Ed Calle's latest Mojito Records release, Dr. Ed Calle Presents Mamblue, has received a 2015 Latin Grammy nomination marking Calle's fifth Grammy nomination. Ed received 2014 Latin Grammy and 2015 Grammy nominations for his astounding performances with the Afro-Cuban Funk supergroup PALO! Calle also received Latin Grammy nominations for his straight-ahead jazz record In the Zone in 2005 and for Ed Calle Plays Santana in 2007. To date, 3 of 5 Grammy nominations have been earned for live recordings - PALO! Live (2014, 2015), In the Zone (2005). 

 

Calle's remake of Me & Mrs. Jones reached #2 on the adult contemporary radio charts and his Sunset Harbor CD (Concord Records) reached #18 on the Billboard Jazz Charts. 

 

Selected by his peers, Calle was named www.professorawards.org 2015 Most Outstanding Professor at Miami Dade College (collegewide). In 2014, Dr. Calle was named Champion of Education in Arts and Entertainment by the teachers' union representing the nation's fourth largest school system - the United Teachers of Dade. Joining a long list of legendary artists including Desi Arnaz, Jr., Celia Cruz, Arturo Sandoval, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Willie Chirino, and Gloria Estefan, Dr. Ed Calle was named King of Carnival Miami 2013.
